Mrs. Alice Brents Lane died Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Archbold Hospital in Thomasville, GA. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mark Worsley officiating. Interment will follow in Shepard Cemetery with Mike Boyd, Ashley Brents, Brandon Brents, Scott Henderson, Duren Williams and Al Boyd serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at Colquitt Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lane was a retired school teacher from the Miller County School System and a member of Colquitt First Baptist Church. Mrs Alice was an avid quilt maker, very family oriented and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by one son, Fred (Claire Phelps) Brents of Thomasville, GA; three grandchildren, Ashley (Ashlyn) Brents, Brandon (Mallory) Brents, and Lori (Scott) Henderson; seven great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jack Boyd of Thomasville, GA and Roy (Gail) Boyd of Waycross, GA.  She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Marion Laurie Brents; her second husband, Clay Lane; one son, Ricky Brents; her parents; Fred and Alice Everson Boyd; and three brothers Alton Boyd, Marvin Boyd and Emory Boyd.
