Andrew Boyd Merritt

     Rev. Andrew Boyd Merritt of Colquitt, GA died Thursday, July 6, 2023, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 9, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Bellview Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Justin Merritt, Rev. Royce Horne, Rev. William Smith and Rev. Jason Wood officiating. Interment will follow at Bellview Church Cemetery with Hunter Merritt, Jamie Merritt, Jeremy Merritt, Cody Enfinger, Kenny Brown, Darrin McVey, and Bud Brown serving as active pallbearers. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Bellview Free Will Baptist Church.

     Rev. Merritt served as the Pastor of Hebrew Free Will Baptist Church for 29 years. He served in the Army National Guard for 6 years.

     He is survived by his wife, Patsy McVey Merritt of Colquitt, GA; one son, Justin (Leslie) Merritt of Springfield, GA; two grandchildren, Hunter Boyd Merritt, and Anna Lynn Merritt; one brother, Roger (Helga) Merritt of Colquit, GA; one sister, Debra (Sidney) Reynolds of Colquitt, GA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, AJ and Oleen Haire Merritt.
