Bob Allen George

Mr Bob Allen George of Colquitt died Saturday, April 22, 2023 at his residence. Graveside services will be Monday, April 24, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Thompson Cemetery with Full Military Honors with Rev. Bobby Whittaker and Dr. Phil BadreSingh officiating. There will be no visitation.

Mr. George was a lifelong resident of Miller County. He attended school and graduated in 1950. He served in the US Army for 22 years, retiring a Command Sgt Major E9. He was a veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a combat veteran earning the Combat Infantry Badge. He was a member of the Gerald Grow Post #165 of the American Legion. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Mr. George was a member of Thompson FreeWill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher.

Mr. George is survived by his wife, Terrie Warren George of Colquitt, GA; two sons, David (Deana) George of Colquitt, GA, and Allen (Lucy) George of McDonough, GA; two daughters, Danielle (Tony) Ramos of Peachtree City, GA, and Linda Chambliss of Colquitt, GA; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Niza Lee Jones of Statesboro, GA and Mary Anne Vaticalos of San Antonio, TX; and one brother, Charlie George of St. Simons, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Calvin and Niza Lee Sheffield George; and three brothers, Amos George, Eugene George, and Winford George.
