Carolyn Whitaker Widner

     Mrs. Carolyn Whitaker Widner of Colquitt, GA died Friday, July 21, 2023, at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday, July 23, 2023, at 4:00 PM, at Gordon Cemetery, with Rev. Daniel Dean officiating.

     Mrs. Widner was a retired school teacher. She formerly taught at Harmony School, Miller County Schools, and SGA. She was a member of Mt. Olive Holiness Church.

     Mrs. Widner is survived by one daughter, Nancy (Al) Davis of Colquitt, GA; and one granddaughter, Ame Carol Davis of Birmingham, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Talbert Newton Widner; one son, Scott Widner; one brother, Glenn Whitaker; and parents, JP and Fannie Lou Cleveland Whitaker.

     In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Gordon Cemetery fence fund. Donations may be mailed to Nancy Davis at 28 Gordon Lane, Colquitt, GA 39837. Please earmark checks for the fence fund.
