Chandler Eugene Bennett

     Chandler Eugene Bennett departed this life 7/16/24 to meet his Maker and Heavenly Father. A Celebration of his Homegoing was held at First Baptist Church on July 19 with Dr. Craig Hartzog, pastor, Dr. Carl Marshall who led Chandler to the Lord and baptized him, and childhood friend, Pastor Bobby Whitaker in charge of the service. Steve Long, FBC pianist and fellow worker at MCLB, and Larry King, Family Deacon and soloist brought a beautiful musical presentation of old hymns Chandler had chosen. A US flag covered the casket with a carved soldier atop. Chandler served in the Army for 21 years including the Shock and Awe events of the Iraqi Freedom Conflict. That was followed by 25 years in the repair division at Marine Corp Logistics Base in Albany. 

     Active Pallbearers included: Jacob Gaston, Joel Gaston, Josiah Gaston, Bert Kight, Jay Kimbrel, Lance Cooper, Daniel Cooper, Logan Bennett 

     Honorary Pallbearers were Drew Bridges, Tripp Bridges, Rodney Bryan, Parks Callan, Randy Dunlap, James Fudge, Dana Hawkins, Tommy Newberry, John Edward Wells, Robert Wilkin, Charlie Will Wright

      Chandler is survived by his wife of 18 years- Kathy Cook Bennett Daughters- Nicole Bennett Gaston (Matthew), Jenny Kimbrel Adcock (Mike), & Jo K. Kimbrel Son- Jay Kimbrel (Trena) 

     Grandchildren- Jacob (Amie), Joel, Addy, Josiah, & Libby Gaston. Bethany Burch (Jameson), Becky Cobb, Kate Lovin (Cody), Callie Boswell (Chris), Betsy Bradford (Charlie), Buck Bodrey (Harlie), Jack Kimbrel, & Wilder Ethredge. 6 Great-grands- Rhett, Bryson, Annie, Jackson, C.M. & Blakely 

     Sister- Laverne Bennett Nash, Sister- in-law- Peggy Bennett, Nephews- Bobby Cooper (Kristy), Timmy Cooper (Danna), & Brett Bennett (Jennifer), Niece- Becky Clifford (Tom)

     Predeceased family: Parents- Charles Eugene and Opal Matthews Bennett Brother- Charles Kenneth Bennett, Brother-in-law- Clifford Nash 

     Burial - Baker Memorial Gardens, Moultrie, Georgia Memorials may be mailed to FBC – Colquitt, Georgia 351 E. Pine Street 39837 for completion of the Chapel.
