Son of Hazel and Bert Clements, he was born on June 5, 1941 in Donalsonville, GA. He graduated from Miller County High School in 1959 and entered the US Air Force shortly after, and was stationed in Germany. During this time, he was able to travel throughout Europe and Northern Africa, and enjoyed experiencing life overseas while proudly serving his country. On August 3, 1968 he married Beverly Roberts and had three children: Robert Ryan, Ansley Lynn, and Lesley Ann. Through his children, his family grew to include Jamie (English) Clements, Trey Grimes, and Andrew Maney, and six grandchildren: Anna Ryan and Jameson Clements, Charles and Theo Grimes, and Marcus and Juliette Maney. His nieces and nephews are a special part of his life: Leah Siebenborn, Janette Durden, John Roberts, Ashley Roberts, and Erin Vickers. David was a beloved husband, father, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. His life revolved around his family, friends, and his church family. He never failed to help someone in need, and was a listening ear whenever called upon. Although his greatest roles were husband and father, he also enjoyed farming, carpentry, taking photos, and fishing.

During his illness, he maintained a positive attitude, with the help of his wife and brother-in-law Scot Roberts, who took the greatest care to ease the trials and tribulations he faced for many years.

He was preceded in death by his mother, his father, and his sister, Joan Siebenborn.
