Dr. Bradley Saunders Merritt

Dr. Bradley Merritt of Colquitt died Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Miller County Hospital.  A private family only funeral service will be held Sunday, September 29, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mark Worsley officiating. Interment will be in the Colquitt City Cemetery. 

Dr. Bradley practiced medicine with his uncle, Dr. Hinton Merritt and father, Dr. James Merritt for over 30 years at the Merritt Clinic in Colquitt. He served his country in the US Army in Germany and was of the Baptist faith. Dr. Bradley was on the Miller County Board of Education for many years, served on the board of the James W. Merritt Library, was the supervisor over the lab at Miller County Hospital for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Nellie Merritt of Colquitt, GA; one son, Dr. Christopher (Jennifer) Merritt of Rome GA; three grandchildren, Bryn Merritt, Knox Merritt, and Ansley Merritt; and one brother, Tom (Diane) Merritt of Panama City, FL.
