James Carlton Cowart

 James Carlton Cowart “JC” age 74 of Moreland, GA passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rollin Rathel officiating. Interment will follow at Colquitt City Cemetery with his grandchildren serving as pallbearers.

     James was born November 20, 1948 in Colquitt, GA. He retired from General Motors. He was a hard worker and a mechanic by trade. When not at work you could find him in his shop working on cars late at night. He enjoyed spending time with his family. If you knew JC you would know he loved his coveralls, Chevrolet cap, apple pies, chocolate milk, Waffle House, and his rollback. He loved his grandmother, Lucille and his aunt Lounette very much. JC will be missed by all who knew him.

     James is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda Cowart. Their three daughters: Shannon Pasley (Ron), Tanya Hannah (Mike) and Jamie Smith. His 9 grandchildren Kevin Abercrombie (Sarah) Brittany Brandon (Ros), Justin Pasley (Jamie), Spencer Hannah (Katy) Brooklyn Ray (Josh) Chanceller Hannah, Kaitlyn Smith, and Carley Smith. His great grandchildren Pasley and Josie Brandon; Major, Dawson and Louella Ray; Waylon and Brody Pasley; Alice and Wilson Abercrombie. His siblings, Carolyn Patterson (Billy), June Holder, Jan McBrayer, Jack Cowart (Kathy). Many nieces and nephews. Expecting arrivals Clayton Ray , and L.T. Hannah. James was preceded in death by his father, James A. Cowart and his mother Ruby Berry Cowart and grandson Avery Pasley whom he all loved dearly.
