Jerry Winston Carter

     Jerry Winston Carter of Colquitt, GA died on Monday, September 18, 2023, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital after several years of battling COPD. Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Bellview Cemetery, with Rev. Jean Watson officiating. Interment will follow.

     Mr. Carter was born and raised in Colquitt, GA, but lived most of his adult life in Albany, GA, where he owned Quality Carpet Company. He was one of eight children to Casey and Elton Carter. Mr. Carter was a Christian man, and a member of the Peace Keepers Motorcycle Club.

     He is survived by one daughter, Shari Carter Dillon; one grandchild, Cailon "Cai" Dillon; one sister, Sharolyn Carter; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by one grandson, Daniel Cade Dillon; four brothers, Otis Carter, Jimmy Carter, Danny Carter, and Glen Carter; two sisters, Evon Carter Phillips, and Mabel Carter Richardson; parents, Casey and Elton Carter; and his beloved Grandma, Minnie Grimes.
