Jewel McKenzie

Mrs Jewel McKenzie of Colquitt died Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Miller County Hospital.  Funeral services will be Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Colquitt First Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Worsley and Rev. Tim Mock officiating. Interment to follow at Gordon Cemetery with Tony Mock, Troy Mock, Joe Sheffield, Rodney Bryan, John Edward Wells, Chuck Newberry and Chris Johnson serving as active pallbearers.  Visitation will be Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 10 to 11 AM at Colquitt First Baptist Church.

Mrs Jewel worked in the Child Day Care Business for many years and was a member of Colquitt First Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, John Michael (Glenice) McKenzie of Memphis, Tenn. and One daughter, Janice (Woodrow) Heming of Columbia, SC.  Five grandchildren , one great grandaughter. One sister, Barbara (Bobbie) Mock of Colquitt and special cousin Eloise Parkins of Colquitt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cohen McKenzie, parents, John Franklin and Hattie Widner, one son, James McKenzie and one sister Lois Rust.
