Ms. Joan A King of Colquitt, GA died Friday, January 13, 2023, at her residence. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 2:00 PM at South Mt. Zion Church of God with Rev. John Calhoun and Rev. Ronald Kirkland officiating. Interment will follow at Colquitt City Cemetery with Ricky Allen, Tim Allen, Roger Gordon, John Pratt, Calvin Pratt, and Joshua Pratt serving as active pall bearers. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Colquitt Funeral Home.
She is survived by three daughters, Rosa (Jimmy) Phillips of Colquitt, GA, Vickie (Michael) Andrews of Bainbridge, GA, and Janet (Brian) Howarth of Temple, GA; six grandchildren, Derrick (Kate) Cook, Joshua Cook, Megan (Corey) Phillips Moore, Kayln Phillips, Lindsey Steenrod, and Laura Leigh (Jared) Long; nine great-grandchildren, Alleigh Grace Cox, Caroline Joan "Cari Jo" Cox, Silas Cox, Gemma Long, Aaron Long, Cullen Long, Logan Cook, Miles Steenrod, and Aubrey Steenrod; two sisters, Loretta Gordon of Colquitt, GA, and Patricia Newstead of Florida; and a large number of nieces and nephews. Ms. Joan was preceded in death by four brothers, Ray Allen, Floyd Allen, Sam Allen, and James Griffin; two sisters, Lollie Westbrook, and Hazel Hatcher; and her parents, James and Ida Richardson Allen.
