Horace Worsley

October 17, 1936 — May 27, 2024

Joe Horace Worsley, age 87, died Monday, May 27, 2024, at the Miller Nursing Home,
Colquitt, GA.
 
Joe was born October 17, 1936, in Miller County, the son of Robert Lon Worsley (Daddy
Bob) and Amanda Caddis Worsley (Granny Mandy).  He was the first born of 5
children. Siblings – Alice Jane Worsley (deceased), Robert Lon Worsley (deceased),
Joyce Worsley Sheffield (deceased), and David Worsley (living). He was a self-
employed carpenter and home builder, as well as a farmer for many years.
 
Joe first married Sherrer E Ethredge (deceased) of Baker County.  Three children were
born to this union, Robert Hampton Worsley (living), Sherrie Jo Worsley Dukes
(deceased), and Timothy Craig Worsley (living).  
 
Through this marriage, Joe is survived by his two sons, Robert Hampton Worsley (wife
– Doreen), and Timothy Craig Worsley.   He is also survived by his brother, David 
Worsley (wife – Norma). Additionally, he is survived by his oldest grandchild, Jill
Dukes Prince, four great-grands – Jade Prince, Autumn Prince, Paige Prince, and Ally
Prince, and 2 great grands, Seth Prince and Adalyn Wickham.   He is also survived by
grandchildren, Ben Worsley, Sam Worsley, Zach Worsley, Katie Worsley, and Caleb
Worsley, along with great grandchildren Noah Worsley and Reese Worsley. He also
had many nieces and nephews:  Lee Sheffield Calhoun (Richie), Cindy Kimbrel, Larry
Kimbrel, Sherrie (deceased), Robert Todd (deceased), Terri Lynn, and Robin.
 
Later in life, Joe married Norma Torres Jones (deceased).
 
Through this marriage, Joe is survived by a stepdaughter, Ella Jones Jackson (husband -
Dean) and one step grandson, Quenten Jackson.  His stepson, Durell Jones preceded
him in death.  Also surviving him is his step granddaughter, Leigh Ribolzi.
 
Joe (Horace) dedicated his life to Jehovah and was baptized in 1972 as one of Jehovah’s 
Witnesses in the Blakely Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and will be dearly 
missed by his spiritual brotherhood of Sisters and Brothers.  
 
A memorial service will be held at the Blakely GA Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s 
Witnesses, 650 N Main Street, Blakely, GA on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 2:00 PM.
All friends and family are welcome to attend.
 
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Worldwide Preaching Work at  
www.donate.jw.org 
 
There will be no interment or repast after the service, but all are welcome to associate
after the service at the Kingdom Hall.
