John Daniel Bush

     John Daniel Bush, age 83, of Colquitt passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at his home church, Thompson Free Will Baptist, Monday, December 16th at 3 o’clock in the afternoon with Rev. Bobby Whittaker officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. John Daniel Bush will be laid to rest at Thompson Free Will Baptist Cemetery with Justin Richardson, Adam Richardson, Tyler Holt, and Kenny Brown serving as active pallbearers. Tripp Richardson and Mac Holt will be honorary pallbearers.

     John Daniel Bush was born on February 22, 1941, in Colquitt, to H.C and Zebie Bush. He spent his life in Miller County. After graduating high school, he volunteered his service to the National Guard. JD married the love of his life, Rosie Bush, in December of 1961. They made their home here in Colquitt, where they raised, and loved their children and grandchildren.

     JD was a man who knew hard work and had many jobs over his life including traveling with Chrysler as their quality control engineer. JD spent his life surrounded by his family, spending countless evenings in the deer stand, and sitting on Kim’s back porch with Ms. Grace and his great grandchildren.

     JD knew and loved the Lord, and left this earth surrounded by the ones who mattered the most to him.

     John Daniel Bush is survived by his only daughter Kim (Thad) Richardson; grandchildren, Danielle (Tyler) Holt, Macey (Kenny) Brown, Justin (Paige) Richardson and Adam (Chelsea) Richardson; great grandchildren, Ava, Rosie, Olive, Tripp, Mac, Cohen, Wrenley, Annie Belle and Leora.

     John Daniel Bush was preceded in death by parents, H.C and Zebie, brother Billy, his wife Rosie, and son Timmy.
