John Clifford Davis, Jr

Mr. John Clifford Davis, Jr., age 78, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023. He was born on November 29, 1944 in Colquitt, Georgia to John Clifford Davis, Sr. and Kittie Mae Hare Davis. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 PM, Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Cook’s Cemetery; 2271 Bellview Road, Colquitt, Georgia 39837.

Mr. Davis, Jr. was a resident of Ponce de Leon, Florida. He was Baptist by faith and a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Ponce de Leon, Florida. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Era serving his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years before retiring as a Tech Sergeant having received awards for: Air Force Commendation Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Force Presidential Unit Citation, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Outstanding Unity Award with Valor, and Air Force Good Conduct Medal. He enjoyed gardening and raising catfish in his catfish pond. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Davis, Jr. was predeceased by his father and mother.

Mr. Davis, Jr. is survived by his wife Juanita Weimorts Davis; children Donna Helgesen, Debbie Wilson, Theresa Miller, Charlene Murray and husband Richard, Harold Cassiday and wife Inez; grandchildren Bill Cassiday and wife Jennifer, Bridgett Curry and husband Jake, Savannah Miller, Cary Miller, Alex Cunningham and wife Marisol, Gregory Cunningham, Christopher Franks, Jeffery Franks and wife Heather; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A time of visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Monday, April 17, 2023 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church; 55 County Highway 181C, Ponce de Leon, FL 32455.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church; 55 County Highway 181C, Ponce de Leon, FL 32455, with Reverend Richard Murray, Sr. officiating and military honors by the United Stated Air Force.

Flowers are being accepted.

Pallbearers will be Bill Cassiday, Colby Pugh, Willard Rushing, Jeff McVay, Gene Lollie, and Steve Allen.
