Laverne McLendon

     Mrs. Laverne McLendon of Colquitt, GA died Monday, August 5, 2024 at Great Grans Personal Care Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 9, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Larry Powell and David Mclendon officiating. Interment will follow at New Salem Church Cemetery with Bo Haywood, James Phillips, Robert Newberry, Josh Bush, Jay Bush, and Michael Bush serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held Friday, August 9, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Colquitt Funeral Home. 

     Mrs. McLendon was a member of New Salem Church, and retired Program Assistant from the ASCS Office. 

     She is survived by one son, David (Sheila) McLendon of Magnolia, TX; one daughter, Judy (Ronnie) Powell of Colquitt, GA; two grandchildren, Tony McLendon and Jeff Powell; five great-grandchildren, Rhiana McLendon, Adam McLendon, Nicolette Dhillon, Vivanna Dhillon, and Kenzi McLendon; three sisters, Nelcene Mitchell of Brinson, GA, Geneva Roland of Colquitt, GA, and Janie Hinson of Dothan, AL. She was preceded in death by husband, Joe Tom McLendon; two sisters, Jewell Worsley and Margie Kirksey; one brother, John Cobb; one granddaughter, Rebecca Dhillon; and parents, Charlie and Beannie Hart Cobb.
