Margaret Cook Mathis

Mrs. Margaret Cook Mathis, 96, died Saturday, May 4, 2024 at her residence. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Cook's Union Church with Rev. Jean Watson officiating. Interment to follow in Cook's Cemetery with Jack Mathis, Shane Mathis, John Newberry Williams Jr.,  Michael Phillips, Chad Heard and Bo Heard serving as active pallbearers.  Visitation will be Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 10  to 11 AM at Cook's Union Church.
Mrs. Margaret was a homemaker and was connected to farming her whole life and also worked in health care a number of years. She joined Cook's Union Church in 1947 and worked in numerous capacities in the church.

She is survived by three sons, Emory L. Mathis of Colquitt, Gregory A. (Rhonda Sue) Mathis of Jesup and Wendell L. (Angel) Mathis of Colquitt. Six grandchildren and Ten Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack L. Mathis, her parents, Willis H. and Calista Musgrove Cook, one granddaughter, Renee Mathis Bailey, one sister, Calista Cook Heard and two brothers, James Willis Cook and Carlton Pete Cook..
