     Mark Stephen Merritt, Sr. of Colquitt, GA died on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Southeast Health in Dothan, AL. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 15, 2024, at 2:00 PM, at Colquitt First Baptist Church with Dr. Alex Howell officiating. Interment will follow at Colquitt City Cemetery with Greg Calhoun, Marty Kelley, Sr., Roger Wayne Davis, Edwin Wilkin, Garet Franklin, and Corey Pickle serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held Monday, April 15, 2024, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Colquitt First Baptist Church.
     Mr. Merritt was a farmer.
     He is survived by his wife, Vicki Franklin Merritt of Colquitt, GA; one son, Mark Stephen Merritt, Jr. of Colquitt, GA; three daughters, Beth (Stacy) Miller of Jakin, GA, Misti Merritt Middleton, and Mindi Merritt (Bryan) Clenney, both of Colquitt, GA; five grandchildren, Blake (Aaron) Miller, Brock Miller, Maddox Miller, Merritt Middleton, and Bowen Middleton; one great-grandchild, Mia Miller; and two sisters, Melanie (George) Williams of Peachtree City, GA; and Marianne (Robert) Melton of Damascus, GA. He was preceded in death by parents, Hinton and Ruth Dinwiddie Merritt.
