Marshall Paul Brunson

     Mr. Marshall Paul Brunson of Damascus, GA died Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 16, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Colquitt First Baptist Church with Rev. Craig Hartzog officiating. Interment to follow at Cross Roads Cemetery in Damascus with Jacob Blakey, Colin Blakey, Cole Blakey, Brady Brunson, Hayden Brunson and Jamie West serving as active pallbearers. Caleb Brunson and Daniel Brunson will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 16, 2025, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at Colquitt First Baptist Church. 

     Mr. Brunson was the founder of Early Trucking Company, and also worked at Damascus Peanut Company for many years before he retired. He was a member of the Colquitt First Baptist Church, a veteran of the US Army, as well as a member of the Masons and the Marzuq Shrine Temple in Tallahassee, FL.

     He is survived by his wife, Brenda Brunson of Damascus,GA ;one son, Robert (Michelle) Brunson of Damascus, GA; one daughter, Kathy Blakey of St. Charles, MO; eight grandchildren, Caleb Brunson, Daniel Brunson, Jacob Blakey, Colin Blakey, Cole Blakey, Brady Brunson, Hayden Brunson and Haylee Brunson; and one daughter-in-law, Linda Brunson of Quitman, GA. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosa Mae Brunson; one son, Richard "Ricky" Brunson; three grandchildren, Marshall Brunson, Macon Brunson, Abigail Brunson  and son-in-law, Tony Blakey. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Chapel Renovation Fund at Colquitt First Baptist Church.
