Martha Jean Cashwell Womble

     Mrs. Martha Jean Cashwell Womble of Colquitt, GA died Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at her residence. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Flat Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Cory Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with her loving grandsons, Brandon Simpson, Chris Bailey, Dusty Edwards, Blake Womble, Jeremy Edwards, and Joe Swofford; and brother-in-law, Wayne Womble, serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Flat Creek Baptist Church.

     Mrs. Womble was a homemaker, and a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church.

     She is survived by her husband, Buren Womble of Colquitt, GA; one son, Russell (Sandra) Womble of Colquitt, GA; two daughters, Joye (Scott Driggers) Bailey of Colquitt, GA, and Linda (Max) Wallace of Colquitt, GA; seven grandchildren, Kristi Womble, Jeremy (Sophia) Edwards, Blake (Mary) Womble, Dusty (Kristin) Edwards, Jalin (Joe) Swofford, Chris (Jennifer) Bailey, Brandon (Halie) Simpson; nine great-granchildren; and seven sisters, Joann Sinnard of Houston, TX, Frances (Bobby) Love of Colquitt, GA, Nan Smith of Colquitt, GA, Peggy (Fred) Allen of Tallahassee, FL, Judy (Billy) Owens of Columbus, GA, Pam Blakey of Opelika, AL, and Gail Frank of North Carolina. Mrs. Womble was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Glen Womble; and her parents, Barney and Robbie Herring Cashwell.
