Perry Hudson, Jr., 67, died March 14th, 2023, at his home in Leary, GA.
Born on November 20th, 1955, in Bainbridge, GA, he was the third child of Perry, Sr. and Vivian Calhoun Hudson. Perry lived his entire life in the Anna District of Baker County. He attended school at Patmos and graduated from Miller County High School in 1973.
After high school, Perry worked in the construction industry for a short time before joining his father on the family farm. He obtained his commercial pilot’s license and crop dusted for himself, and others, while farming. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and collecting Native American artifacts.
His five grandchildren were the delight of his life, and they each adored their Grandpa. Flint loved fishing and riding in the excavator with him. Vesper loved riding in the tractor and sneaking treats from the pantry, along with Emma, who loved to cuddle with Grandpa in the recliner. Evelyn and Elora lit up with smiles when he talked to them. His arms were always big enough to hold them all in his lap.
Perry was preceded in death by his parents, Perry, Sr. and Vivian Calhoun Hudson, and his sister, Dianne Hudson Haywood. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Fleet Hudson, sons, Clay (Rebekah) Hudson and Lane (Hannah) Hudson, grandchildren, Flint Hudson, Emma Hudson, Evelyn Hudson, Vesper Hudson, and Elora Hudson; sister, Lyndia Lovering, and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 18th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Live Oak Church, 1345 GA Hwy 200, Leary, GA. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
