Stephen "Steve" LaDon Worsley, Sr

Stephen (Steve) LaDon Worsley, Sr., of Columbus, GA, died Friday, April 11, 2025, at Columbus Hospice House with his children by his side. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM with a visitation one hour prior at First Baptist Church, 351 East Pine St., Colquitt, Georgia 39837.

Steve was born and raised in Colquitt, GA. He and his family moved to Columbus, GA in 1989. Not long after moving to Columbus, he was named President of North Columbus Babe Ruth Baseball League. He enjoyed spending time coaching and working on the fields. He also loved to fish and spend time outdoors.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Mamie Newberry Worsley, three brothers, Douglas Worsley, Jr., Edgar “Buddy” Worsley and Talmadge Worsley and one sister, Betty Barnes.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Treisha Johnson (Chris), LaDon Worsley (Ashlee) and Dusty Worsley, his grandchildren, Tyler Johnson (Heidi), Tinlee Worsley, Easton Worsley, Rylee Worsley, and Hudson Worsley, two sisters, Gertrude Roberts of Colquitt, GA and Brenda Mahan (Walter) of Woodstock, GA, five brothers, Jimmy Worsley, Teresa of Arlington, GA, Herman Worsley (Rise) of Delhi, LA, Henry Worsley (Linda) of Colquitt, GA, Roger Worsley (Angie) of Colquitt, GA, and Wayne Worsley (Marilyn) of Monroe, AL, numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Gardens at Calvary Assisted Living & Memory Care, 7595 Moon Road, Columbus, GA 31909.

Striffler-Hamby Mortuary of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
