Waver M Perry

     Waver McLendon Perry, born on May 24, 1927, embarked on her eternal journey to be with her savior, Jesus, on September 24, 2023. To know Waver was to embrace life itself, for she had a rare gift of turning strangers into friends with her warmth and kindness. Her unwavering faith led her to fervently pray for her beloved family and friends, and she cherished her independence as a source of strength. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 29, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Colquitt Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Kent Barwick officiating. Interment will follow at Colquitt City Cemetery with Robert Longo, Travis Schaney, Jim Brigadier, Ethan Schaney, and Matthew Brigidaire serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Colquitt Free Will Baptist Church.

     Her heart belonged to her church family, and wherever she traveled, she proudly shared the boundless kindness and warmth of her small-town roots. Waver's spirit was resilient, having triumphed over breast cancer, and she offered a helping hand to anyone facing hardship, embodying the true essence of compassion.

     Waver's life was a testament to the joy of living, and her infectious optimism was a beacon of light in our world. In times when positivity is scarce, her legacy reminds us of the enduring power of a hopeful heart.

     Waver is preceded in death by her loving husband, Herbert Perry, and her beloved son, Donald "Don" Perry.

     She leaves behind a rich legacy in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: son, Herbert and Patrice Perry, Jr; daughter Charlotte Perry; grandchildren, Dody and Jim Brigadier, Dee and Travis Schaney, Shelly and Robert Longo, and Jennifer “Jennie” Perry; and great-grandchildren, Matt Brigadier, Victoria and Miguel Dias, Tyler Schaney, Ethan Schaney, Georgia Schaney, and Talia Longo.

     In honoring Waver's memory, may we find inspiration in her unwavering faith, boundless love, and unshakeable positivity. She lived a life worth celebrating, and her spirit will forever be a guiding light in our lives.
