William Regan

April 8, 1931 — September 4, 2023

    William Eldridge “Bill” Regan, 92, of Colquitt, GA, formerly Albany, GA, died Monday, September 4, 2023 at Magnolia Manor in Americus, Georgia. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 8, 2023, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Colquitt with Rev. Chad Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at Colquitt City Cemetery with Christopher Jarrell, Dylan Jarrell, Coley Taylor, and Dallas Regan serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at First Baptist Church of Colquitt.

     Bill was born in Miller County, GA on April 8, 1931 to the late William and Sybil Regan.  He grew up in Miller County and graduated from Miller County High School in 1948.

     Bill was employed as Regional Manager of Nationwide Insurance in Albany, GA until retirement. He also started and taught Regan Insurance Continuing Ed. (RICE) for Georgia Agents Pre-Licensing Course in partnership with Darton College. He was a former member of First Baptist Church of Albany and current member of First Baptist Church of Colquitt. Bill had a very active life enjoying Gospel sings, hunting, fishing, teaching and spending time with his family.  He had a passion for spreading the Gospel and was a part of the Chaplaincy Services at the Calhoun State Prison for years where he led many to follow Christ by baptism. 

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Yelvington, nephew, Stephen Yelvington, wife, Dolly Regan of Colquitt, GA, his first wife, Cleone Regan, and son, Kenneth A. Regan of Morgan, GA.

     Survivors include his granddaughter, Layla Jarrell (Chris) of Albany, GA, his grandson, Dallas Regan (John), Portland, OR; stepson Reggie Everson, Opelika, AL; stepdaughter, Georgia (Steve) Martin of Bloomington, IL; nephew, Richard Yelvington Jr., Colquitt, GA; great-grandchildren, Coley Taylor, Leesburg, GA and Dylan Jarrell, Canton, GA.

     In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to First Baptist Church of Colquitt.
